In real life these are not a fish at all but a marine mollusc, an intelligent invertebrate related to the Octopus, Squid and Nautilus and they have a unique internal shell called the cuttlebone, that is used to control their buoyancy! They have a reputation of being solitary creatures however they have been observed forming Shoals to migrate. Dark brown body with grey flecks, blue-grey and turquise tentacles. Each fish is unique, hand-painted and hand-finished in Sicily, Italy, and has a hook and loop-through holes in the mould to allow invisible mounting or hanging using wire, cord or tacks and face to the left when mounted.
